The outdoor unit’s drain pan heater prevents ice formation by stopping condensate water—generated during defrost cycles—from freezing, thereby increasing operational reliability during winter. The compressor crankcase heater ensures proper lubrication of the compressor oil at startup, even in extremely low temperatures, significantly extending the lifespan of the compressor.
